Students at the Vaal University of Technology can access most of the course resources (i.e. course outlines, lecture notes/PowerPoint presentations, recommended reading books/journals, videos, forums) that have been posted to the E-learning platform by VUT lecturers through the VUTela Blackboard.

How to access VUTela Blackboard
First Make sure you have your internet connection.
Open any of the browsers on your phone or PC (you can use any of these browsers, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox)
Now, visit the Vutela Blackboard Portal through this Link
After Following the above link, you’ll be taken to the Vutela Blackboard.
Here, you are required to enter your username and password. Your username is your student number. Your password is changeme, with no space and all lower case.
Once logged in, scroll down the page and locate to Course Categories. Select your School
Select your course or check for your course in your department.
You will then see the content for your course.
How to Login to VUTela Using VUT BB App
All students and staff have access to the Blackboard Mobile App. The App allows you to access VUTela from your mobile device.
All your orientation nprogramme activities will be available on the Blackboard App.
The Blackboard App contains great features for students staff.
The App is available on the app store and playstore.
In order to get access, you need to complete the following three steps.
First, you need to download the blackboard mobile app.
Once you downloaded the app you need to enter the school name: The school name you to enter is “Vaal University of Technology”
Now add your user name and password. Your username is your Student number. Your password is changeme, enter with no space and all lower case.
you’ll now have access to the Blackboard App and the orientation programme.
