You can order Pick n Pay groceries on the Mr D App. Pick n Pay’s online shoppers can now choose between two services; PnP Groceries through Mr D or the retailer’s own asap! platform, which evolved from its Bottles app in 2021.

Online shoppers buying from Pick n Pay through Mr D will be allowed to choose a backup item, one which will be automatically added to the delivery if their first choice is out of stock or otherwise unavailable. If using asap! and the item bought is out of stock, the shopper will get a notification that it is out of stock and will have 10 minutes to select replacements from a list of similar products.

Choose a specific Pick n Pay store

Pick n Pay’s asap! automatically directs the shopper’s order to the nearest store, whereas Mr D will give users an option to select a store in the vicinity. Business Insider tested this feature and found all Pick n Pay stores within a 4km radius.

Track your delivery driver

Like fast food and restaurant orders bought through Mr D, users will also be able to track the progress of their delivery – showing the delivery driver’s location – using PnP Groceries. On the asap! app, the progress of the order is reflected only through a status update. To track driver progress, you have to open a map link on a mobile browser, outside the app.

Call the driver delivering your order

Through both the Mr D and asap! app, users are able to contact their drivers via the chat or text option. Mr D has the added benefit of being able to call the driver delivering an order.
